Jewellery workshop sessions: 5 week course

Saturday: 12.00pm to 2.00pm

 

1st Week

Within the workshop sessions, we will be looking at the history and function of certain aspects of jewellery making. The first of this will be Peyote beadwork, which is indigenous to The North American Plains Indians.

 

2nd Week

The Second week will be a little more advanced, in that the techniques and applications will be a little more complex than the previous weeks.

 

3rd Week

The third week will look at Adinkra symbols, and what they mean to the Ghanians and the gold industry in this region. And then choosing a symbol to work with that may have significance to them or a friend.

 

4th Week

The fourth week we will be making the Adinkra symbols that we have identified out of Leather, and or other materials!

 

5th Week

We will also be learning how to use Clay and polymer materials to form and make beads in this session!

 

6th Week

Make your own stuff, from materials a studio source

 

 

Price List:

£10 for two hours (please note 5th session will be £15.00, and will take into account the extra cost for clay and polymer bead making).
